Time of Your Life

It was supposed to be the time of your life, right? You’re turning eighteen and that means freedom, wild parties, road trips, parent-free uni life or maybe a gap year, who knows, the world’s your oyster. And to kick off all that, you were going to host THE CRAZIEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER.

At least, that was the plan before this fucking lockdown. Now, you’re feeling kind of… suspended. Everything is just so uncertain: will the prom be cancelled? Maybe that would be for the better, because you still didn’t dare to ask anyone out. What about the exams? The music festival you were hoping to attend? You’d have no money to go anyway, since the cafe where you were working part-time is now shut. And you can’t even leave the house when your parents are shouting at each other, which is happening much more often since the lockdown started.

And when it comes to your birthday party… well, you’re stuck at home with your parents in the other room, and rather than dancing to your favourite tunes you’re struggling to hear your friends over this bloody feedback because your best mate can’t be bothered to wear headphones. At least you have some alcohol and some friendly faces on the other side of the screen. Let’s make the best of it.
